Censorship
Do you have that special book that you've read over and over again? What if that book was suddenly banned or censored so you couldn't read it. What would you do? Would you find it somewhere else, would you just forget about it and find a new favorite book. Sadly this is happening in some places. Books are being banned or censored so some people can't read them. Banning books or censoring them is horrible and upsetting.
Banning books are banning some of the classic novels that almost everyone has read, like The Giver, How to Kill a Mocking Bird, and even Harry Potter. If people are going to ban books just because there's cursing in the book and it's immature, that makes me believe that the person or people who want to ban the book are immature. I know that some religions are against things like cursing or believing in witches and wizards, but there a better solution instead of banning the book, just don't read it.
Banning books also doesn't help kids with understanding real world problems like bullying. Of course you wouldn't want a 5 year old learning about bullying which, then lead to suicide but as kids get older they need to learn about things like that, or they might not understand what happened to there best friend Billy or whatever. they need to learn about what's happening over seas in Iran, what's going on in the war so they know that people are willing to give up their lives to save ours.
Banning books limits children's imaginations. If a kid can't read certain things like the Three Little Pigs because the animals speak in it, and animals don't speak in real life, that's limiting their imaginations. If a child can not imagine then their not a kid, there an adult. If a child doesn't imagine and thinks about real world problems that's great.
As you can see banning books has it's pros and cons, but if there's anything I would say it's that banning books has a horrible outcome and upsets many people. Some people have started a banned books club it's where they read banned books. So many people are passionate about reading that they read the banned books in protest. As you can see banning or censoring books has horrible effect on the world and is very upsetting.
